Sometimes you just need a trip to the seaside. When planning Lucia's trip to New York earlier this year, we knew that we wanted to get out of the city on a customary roadtrip. We had originally talked about going here (to stay in a lighthouse!) but it is booked years in advance! I feel like I should try and book it for far into the future and Lucia can plan her next trip around that! Anyway, in the end we stayed in historic Cape May in the sweetest little doggie-themed farmhouse with a porch swing and a gas stove with teakettle and the beach nearby. It was a glorious weekend filled with driving (having my own wheels is definitely a treat) and exploring the original town, going to the beach to tip our toes in the Atlantic and munching on delicious Italian pizza. It was also Mila's first trip to the beach which she took in her stride and arguably has more fun that us. Our city feet didn't like the sharp stones and debris - spoiled Cape Townians!
Our little home for the weekend!
A spot especially for tea!
First trip to the beach = success!
Downtown Cape May.
Can we please go back?
